Silymarin is a flavonol- lignan mixture obtained from seeds of Silybum marianum. Silymarin is a mixture of silybin, isosilybin, silychristin, and silydianin. Silybin A and B are collectively known as silibinin. Randomized, controlled trials have proved efficacy of silymarin in liver diseases.
